“FEEMAIL FLAIR IS RIGHT ON”, “ Mayor of Slough Councillor Cyril Gibbs sung in praise of women Architects when he opened the first phase of the Rokesby Road Housing Development in Britwell. He said the spacious kitchen and homes have been designed very much with the women in mind. And then he revealed who had designed them…the Councill’s Principal Architect Tzena James. “I just wish the building industry would use more women to design homes”
342 Upper Richmond Road, East Sheen
“Yes, I would like you to be kind enough to take on the project and I am happy to accept the terms set out in your communication.
You ask for the reasons. These are that I asked you to find way of making more effective use of the space within my accommodation area. You at once identified an ugly corridor and proposed instead the creation of two adjoining reception and dining rooms which will give the flat an entirely new and very pleasing central living area. You were also careful to plan the changes within the parameters of reasonable investment in terms of ratio of investment cost to property value. It was your creative thinking and sensible practicality that impressed me.”
“ 342 Upper Richmond Road…
Thank you so much for the final sketch which arrived on Saturday.
Congratulations! You’ve packed quite an amazing amount of accommodation into the flat, but at the same time opened the central area up for light and space.”
“ Dear Tzena, Just a slightly belated but a big thank you for coming to see 36 Acacia Road.
You certainly left us with a range of wonderful ideas and we will be in touch as soon as we have worked out what to do with them”
