Previous experience

The PRINCIPAL Tzena James has over 35 years of multifarious experience within the Public and Private Sectors in Europe and UK in the sectors of Residential, Private and Affordable housing, Educational, Heritage, Civic, Science, Retail and Leisure projects.

EU experience: Sofia – Ministry of Trade, Department of Architecture- Project Architect for large retail projects; Vienna – Prof. Carl Appel Architects – Bank and the Pan American Hotel;  Brussels – designing housing developments for Saudi-Arabia.

UK experience – GLC – Dept. of Architecture – Project Architect for large Housing Developments and four Primary schools; Royal Borough of Kingston – Architects Department – Project Architect for Major refurbishment of Housing developments, Old Persons Homes, Homes for homeless etc.; The Borough of Slough – Architects Department – Principal Architect and Design team leader for three large housing developments and hard Landscaping of the Slough High street. Broadway Malyan Architects and Boyer Design Group – Project Architect for large Prestigious Housing Development schemes for Construction Developers; BMSE Heritage Department – Project Architect and Design Team Leader  for the restoration, alteration, refurbishment and extension of Historic and listed buildings as follows:

The Armouries at the Tower of London, Marlborough House in Westminster, The Royal Courts of Justice, Chelsea Hospital in South Kensington, The new Jodrell Laboratory in the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew – The completed Building was opened by HM The Queen.

TZENA JAMES CHARTERED ARCHITECT was found in 1995 and quickly established a portfolio of completed projects in West London, Richmond, Kingston, Surrey and Middlesex. The current workload includes one off houses, extensions, redefining of space, general upgrading, rationalizing accommodation, improving energy efficiency to HOMES. This includes works to Listed Buildings, and projects in Conservation Areas. (see completed projects)
